Within Ontario, Standard Shipping is $8.00 for one item, and $18.00 for two or more items. Outside of Ontario, please contact our customer service department for pricing information. We use CanPar, Purolator, FedEx, and Canada Post (the “Courier”).
Orders are processed and shipped within 5 business days. If Alpha Textbooks needs to hold an order, we will contact the customer by phone to notify him/her of the delay.
If it’s safe to leave the package unattended at the delivery location, you may request “No Signature Required” (NSR) and designate a location for the parcel to be left. If you choose NSR and your parcel is lost, stolen, or damaged, Alpha Textbooks and the Courier will not be held responsible. Only choose NSR if the package will be safe where it is left.
Couriers are given less time to deliver NSR packages and will not try neighbours, or follow instructions that require them to do anything except leave the package without contact.
Deliveries are made Monday to Friday during regular business hours: 9am to 5pm. Unfortunately, requests for delivery at specific times cannot be honoured. Couriers work designated routes and cannot change the time they deliver to an area.
If your delivery requires a signature and you miss the delivery, the parcel will be returned to Alpha Textbooks.
At this time, you will have the option of paying for redelivery or picking the parcel up at our store. We do not refund fees for missed deliveries, so please provide an address where someone can accept the delivery, or choose NSR. Business addresses are acceptable.
For web orders, you will receive delivery status and tracking information via email. For other ordering methods, please ensure your correct email address is included in the order to receive tracking information.
We have a limited amount of space (approximately 20 characters) to pass along extra instructions to couriers on your behalf. Please be brief when giving special instructions.
If you require any special shipping services such as same day, overnight or pick up by your own courier, contact our customer service department prior to placing your order.
When your order is ready for pick up, our customer service department will contact you via email or phone. If you haven’t been contacted, your order isn’t ready. Please be sure to give us a phone number where we can reach you during business hours, as well as an email address you check regularly. Due to space limitations, we appreciate if customers can pick up their order within three days after we contact you.
Due to circumstance beyond our control (i.e. publisher delays), a book or books you may have ordered might not be available right away. We will notify you of any backorders. You can choose to have your order shipped immediately, and the backorder shipped later for an additional $8.00 shipping fee, or have your order held until all books are in. You can also pick up your books at our store to avoid shipping charges.
Please note: we cannot predict when a backordered book will arrive. The earlier you place your order, the better chance you will have to receive all your books before the school season begins.
