Judit Berg is a storyteller and mother of four children. In Hisztimesék, first published in 2005, he speaks to young children and their parents based on his personal experiences. In 2007, his fairy tale novel Rumini won the IBBY "Children's Book of the Year" award, and it is ranked fourth in the "Top50 Hungarian Children's Books 2000-2010" list and first among novels, and is required reading in many Hungarian elementary schools. The little child is hysterical - he doesn't want to get dressed, eat lunch, tidy up, or just wants to draw attention to himself. The fairy tales in the book were born in a crisis situation: the author invented them to calm his crying, hysterical little children. The sweet, short stories help children and their parents overcome the small but often seemingly insoluble difficulties of everyday life.
The excellent illustrations and short dialogues make the stories readable and enjoyable even for impatient children who want to turn the pages all the time.
At the beginning of the volume - instead of an introduction - there is an encouraging and comforting "true story" for parents. And at the end of the book, there is an encore tale, which has no particular lesson, it is simply for cheerful moments
