The book contains the works of outstanding psychologists devoted to the role of fate in human life. Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), an Austrian psychoanalyst, the founder of psychoanalysis, believed that fate is rigidly determined by complex sexual motives hidden in the subconscious of an individual and setting the algorithm of his life. Alfred Adler (1870-1937), at first one of Freud's closest disciples, then disagreed with him in his views, including about the fate and character of the human personality. Adler did not deny the connection between these concepts, but he was sure that a person could change his fate. However, he agreed with Freud that most people never think about the reasons for their actions, do not know how to analyze the present and accept the lessons of fate.
