It is designed using various media that refl ect the interests and concerns of this audience. It relies as much as possible on natural activities closer to conversation between adults than to school exercises. It also seeks to reconcile the necessary mix of difficulties with the need to quickly master the keys to communication and to get used to rich linguistic environments. An action-oriented approach From the first hour of class, the student is an actor. The class then becomes a social space where information, experiences, opinions are exchanged and where projects are built. From these interactions will arise the desire to master vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation, the need to acquire comprehension and production strategies, and the desire to better understand French-speaking cultures. At the same time, simulation activities will allow learners to anticipate the situations they will have to experience in French-speaking environments. The possibility of working alone It is rare that today's adult student has the necessary availability to learn a foreign language solely by taking courses.
ÉCHO gives him the opportunity to work alone. The personal learning notebook, accompanied by a CD, allows you to find new vocabulary, note its meaning, check the understanding of a text or audio document studied in class and automate the linguistic forms. This notebook is used in conjunction with the other numerous reference tools in the lessons and in the final pages of the book (grammar, vocabulary, conjugation tables). Reference to the Common European Framework Through its objectives and methodology, ÉCHO is fully in line with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for languages. He is also preparing for the DELF (Diploma of Studies in French Language). Each level of ÉCHO prepares for a level of the CEFR and DELF. Self-evaluation and institutional evaluation At the end of each unit, the student carries out with the teacher an assessment of his knowledge and skills. An evaluation file allows the control of acquisitions at the end of each lesson .In the portfolio, the student will note the different moments of his learning as well as his progress in terms of knowledge and know-how.
