The Positive Action Bible curriculum helps students learn about the God of the Word, not just about the Word of God. Teaching children to seek the majesty and grace of God in everything, this curriculum aims to magnify His majesty, works, and nature, and help students look for how God reveals himself through a message that shines through context, culture, and language.
In 5th Grade: Possessing the Land, students will see a pattern of God's work among His people as He displays His unchanging character. This course surveys the Old Testament and emphasizes key people and events in God's plan for Israel. The students will be introduced to patriarchs, judges, royalty, and prophets and see God use everyday men and women to accomplish His great work.
This student manual features 35 bright and colorful lessons (one per week for an average school year). Each lesson includes any new or unfamiliar vocabulary with definitions, a brief summary of the Bible lesson, and sections with questions and fill-in-the-blank graphic organizers. This 5th grade manual features more discussion and application activities than the younger grades; students will spend more time in workbook study than listening to stories. This manual is designed to contain all of a student's written notes for a school year as they listen to the lessons & take quizzes provided in the Grade 5 Teacher's Manual (sold-separately).
Hymn lyrics and a scripture memorization report chart are included for those families working through the optional music and scripture memorization segments of the program (provided in the teacher's manual).
